This is a fantastic show from a year that some overlook. Really great stuff here including a tremendous PeggyO and a juggernaut of a second set. Why not do yourself a favor and hunker down for a bit while this beauty washes over you with chair-crushing goodness? Onwards and upwards. Good thing I got that gift certificate to Furniture World, it's gonna be one of those days.

Hi SDH, I tried this earlier and while I agree with you on the sweet Peggy-O I found the energy levels a bit low on this one (probably because I'm listening to a less than exciting Test Match at the same time). GDradio came to the rescue with this one http://www.archive.org/details/gd78-02-03.aud.warner.19465.sbeok.shnf also released as DP18. Check out the Passenger (not normally one of my faves) for energy.

I may have asked you before, but don't you have IKEA over there. Resilient furniture at affordable prices !!

Yes, there is an Ikea about 10 minutes from my place of employment. As for the energy question, you may have a point there. This is certainly not explosive but rather has a sustained energy that over time erodes even the most resilient structures. Similar to the tides of Nova Scotia vs. the sometimes epic violence off Cape Horn.

Nice simile ... I've been to neither, but I can imagine even the hardest material being gradually worn down by millenia of Bob's gentle yet persistent slide guitar playing.

That's one helluva recording, and/or mastering job by Charlie. It sounds a lot like a matrix
